debis AirFinance changes its name to AerCap

debis AirFinance, one of the world’s largest aircraft leasing and asset management companies, has changed its name to AerCap and launched a new corporate design with immediate effect. The name change follows the acquisition of debis AirFinance B.V. by affiliates of Cerberus Capital Management, L.P. in June 2005.

AerCap represents ‘Capability, Capital and Capacity’, as the core elements of the aviation solutions that we provide to the global aviation industry. “Capability is what ultimately makes the capital and the capacity that we supply with our aircraft work for our clients,” says Klaus Heinemann, Chief Executive Officer of AerCap. “We see ourselves primarily as a knowledge business with highly specialised professionals from around the world. This expertise enables us to supply our customers with the solutions they need”. The tagline ‘Aviation Solutions’ is used to complement the new logo and communicate AerCap’s commitment to its customers’ specific requirements.

“With our new shareholder we have also gained a bold new spirit. We are determined to build on our role as a leading player in the industry,” Klaus Heinemann says. “We are proud that we have some of the most experienced and recognised experts in our team. We all share the same passion for our business and developed our new corporate design to capture this spirit.”

The Company’s new name and look have been launched one month before its tenth anniversary.  The Company’s heritage, however, comprises more than 20 years of aviation leasing and financing experience with roots back to Guinness Peat Aviation through the acquisition of AerFi/Indigo, a successor company of Guinness Peat Aviation by debis AirFinance in 2000.

AerCap provides aircraft leasing and related products to airlines and asset management services to third parties such as investors and banks. AerCap acts as servicer and/or administrative agent for several large aircraft securitisations. The Company is also actively involved in trading aircraft. AerCap currently has a total owned and managed fleet of 238 modern jets and turboprops leased to 85 airlines in 46 countries. Headquartered at Amsterdam's Schiphol Airport, AerCap has offices in Shannon, Ireland and Fort Lauderdale, Florida/United States.
