debis AirFinance to be Acquired

New Strong Ownership Structure and Growth Prospects for Europe’s Largest Aircraft Operating Lessor

 

debis AirFinance, Europe’s largest aircraft leasing and asset management company, announced today that its current shareholders are in the process of selling the company to Cerberus Capital Management. Cerberus will acquire all the share capital and certain debt held by the current shareholders DaimlerChrysler, Bayern LB, Dresdner Bank, DZ BANK and HypoVereinsbank.

 

Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.  The transaction remains subject to certain closing conditions and is expected to be completed within sixty days.

The current shareholders have been advised throughout the proposed transaction by Rothschild. Cerberus was advised by Lehman Brothers and IXIS Capital Markets.
