debis AirFinance Closed Its Third A320
Deal With ACES
debis AirFinance has
signed a sale and leaseback agreement with Aereolineas Centrales de
Colombia S.A. (ACES) for a new A320-200 to be delivered to the Colombian
airline in December this year. The contract is structured as an operating
lease running for ten years.
This A320, which will be
equipped with IAE V2500-A5 engines, is the fifth out of a package of eight
new A320s ACES has ordered from Airbus Industrie. For debis AirFinance, it
is the third A320 leased out to the Colombian carrier.
Medellin-based ACES,
Colombia’s second largest airline, serves over twenty domestic destinations
and six destinations in North America, Latin America and the Caribbean. The
airline’s fleet consists of 12 turboprops and 8 jet aircraft. In December
last year, ACES was recognized by Airbus Industrie for its outstanding
leadership in the A320 Technical Dispatch Reliability performance among 81
airlines and was given the Onboard Services Award by the magazine of the
same name.
debis AirFinance, following its acquisition of AerFi
Group (AerFi/Indigo) in November 2000, now has a total owned and managed
fleet of 222 jets and turboprops worth around US$ 4.5 billion: 75 Boeing
(20 MDC), 53 Airbus, 67 Fokker and 27 ATR/DHC aircraft on lease to 80
airlines in 40 countries around the world. In addition, debis AirFinance
has an order of 32 Airbus A320-family aircraft valued at approximately US$
