AirFinance Places Three Dornier 328 Turboprops With New Customer Great
Plains Airlines
debis AirFinance, one of the world's largest aircraft
leasing and asset management companies, has closed an operating lease
agreement for three Dornier 328-100s with Great Plains Airlines, a regional
carrier based in Oklahoma, US. The first aircraft (MSN 3010) was delivered
to the airline on 2 July, the second aircraft (MSN 3013) on 23 July 2003. The aircraft will
enter into service upon completion of a maintenance and refurbishment
programme. Great Plains Airlines will phase in the third aircraft in early
fall.
Great Plains Airlines is a new customer for debis
AirFinance.
The three Dornier 328s are part of a portfolio of 41
Dornier 328-100s that debis AirFinance manages for a third party. debis AirFinance started servicing
the portfolio in February this year and provides a full range of management
services for the fleet including aircraft remarketing, contract management,
technical monitoring and receivables management.
“The lease
costs for the turboprops are very competitive compared to regional jets
with the same range and capacity”, said Klaus Heinemann, Chief Executive
Officer of debis AirFinance. “Great Plains’ decision to extend their fleet
with D328s is further evidence of the continuing demand for this aircraft
type. We are pleased to have the opportunity to support the airline’s
development in this highly competitive environment.”
