Job requirements, qualifications, and competencies


Industry Experience

  • Negotiating contracts with the aircraft manufacturers, engine manufacturers and BFE suppliers
  • Airline, leasing, OEM Aviation market
  • General knowledge of market prices and lease rates
  • Leasing terms and maintenance reserves
  • Aircraft market relating to lessors and manufacturers
  • Understanding of aircraft models and markets
  • Understanding of what airlines value from a Lessor and use this knowledge when working with the aircraft manufacturers
  • Must have an appreciation of the aircraft production process, timescales, industrial limitations, etc.

Critical Success Factors

  • Commercial aptitude (understanding of principles of Finance and Accounting)
  • Excellent verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Excellent written communication skills
  • Excellent understanding of contract law, legal issues
  • Excellent negotiating skills


  • Proven track record of negotiating skills and good commercial acumen
  • A clear understanding on what objectives need to be achieved
  • Strong ability to develop and build relationships
  • Leadership qualities, the ability to motivate employees/stakeholders internally and externally
  • People management experience
  • Decision-maker
  • Ability to multitask and manage many "balls", balance priorities and not get clouded on details, ability to see the big picture
  • Disciplined, with tenacity to follow through
  • Integrity as effective relationships depend on trust particularly in a challenging environment
  • A creative problem solver
  • Appreciate that these are long term business relations and therefore difference from a one off purchase


  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 10+ years’ work experience in the aviation technical field
