2024

AerCap announced New Engine Order, New Share Repurchase Authorization and First Cash Dividend at Capital Markets Day in New York.

AerCap delivered the first of four new Airbus A330neo aircraft to Corsair. The remaining three aircraft are scheduled to deliver through 2024.

In February 2024, AerCap announced lease agreements with Thai Airways for seven widebody aircraft comprising four Airbus A350-900 aircraft and three Boeing 787-9 aircraft, and ten Airbus A321neo aircraft.

2023

In October 2023, AerCap delivered its first Airbus A321 Passenger-to-Freighter ("P2F") aircraft to IndiGo. The aircraft conversion was completed by Elbe Flugzeugwerke GmbH ("EFW") before being delivered to IndiGo at ST Engineering Aerospace in Singapore.

AerCap announces agreement with Turkish Airlines for the lease of three new Boeing 787-9 aircraft and 25 new MAX-8 aircraft, and lease extensions for six used Airbus A330-200 aircraft. The new aircraft are scheduled to begin delivery in 2024 through 2026.

At the Paris Air Show 2023, AerCap announced the signing of lease agreements with EL AL for two new Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners. The aircraft are scheduled to be delivered in Q4 2025 and Q1 2026.

AerCap signs lease agreements for two used Boeing 737-8 MAX aircraft with ASKY, The Pan-African Airline, headquartered in Togo. Once delivered, the aircraft will be the first B737-8 MAX aircraft in Togo. 

Following the devastating earthquake in Türkiye in early 2023, AerCap transported approximately 13 tons of humanitarian aid in support of the relief effort. The freight, which was flown from Rotterdam to Antalya in Türkiye on board an Airbus A321 aircraft, included clothing, baby food and power generators, and was distributed by several humanitarian aid organizations who were on the ground providing assistance in the region.  

AerCap celebrates the delivery of its 50th 737-800 Boeing Converted Freighter (BCF). The aircraft conversion was completed at COOPESA, a leading MRO provider with expertise in aircraft modifications and conversions. The aircraft was redelivered to GOL Linhas Aéreas, who will operate the aircraft on behalf of a Latin-American e-commerce company.   

2022

At the Farnborough International Airshow 2022, AerCap announced an order for five additional Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners.

AerCap announces the signing of lease agreements for ten new Airbus A320neo aircraft and two new Airbus A330neo aircraft with ITA Airways, delivering beginning in 2023 through 2024.

Milestone Aviation partners with Australian fire-fighting equipment designer, Helitak Firefighting Equipment Pty Ltd (“Helitak”), to develop a new mission for the Sikorsky S-92A as a next-generation, multi-purpose fire-fighting platform.

AerCap signs lease agreements with Air Europa for the long-term lease of five Boeing 787-9 aircraft and ten Boeing 737-8 MAX aircraft.

Milestone Aviation becomes a part of polar history when the Endurance, the ship that Irish born Antarctic explorer Sir Ernest Shackleton lost in 1915, was discovered in Antarctica’s Weddell Sea. The Milestone Aviation owned Bell 412EP helicopter, operated by Ultimate Aviation Group, provided aerial support that assisted in moving crews around the frozen ice, to help achieve this important discovery.

Milestone Aviation partners with Sikorsky and GE Aviation to complete its first SAF-powered flight. The S-92 helicopter was flown into the HAI HELI-EXPO 2022 event in Dallas, Texas, using a blend of SAF. The S-92 continues to advance sustainability efforts in aviation.

Aengus Kelly is honored with the Excellence in Leadership Award at the 48th annual ATW Airline Industry Achievement Awards. The awards recognize individuals who have made important and significant contributions to the global air transport industry. The awards ceremony took place at a gala dinner in Doha, Qatar, at the closing of the 78TH IATA AGM and World Air Transport Summit.

AerCap scoops a record-breaking 11 awards at the Airline Economics Aviation 100 Global Leaders Awards. The event took place during the 2022 Airline Economics conference in Dublin.

AerCap announces that it has signed agreements with Norwegian Air Shuttle ASA for the lease of ten new Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft and eight Boeing 737-800 NG aircraft.

AerCap announces it will provide 10 scholarships to students of the Faculty of Engineering at the International School of Engineering at Chulalongkorn University, Thailand’s number one ranked university and a world-class leader in aerospace engineering education.

2021

AerCap announces that it has entered into a definitive agreement with General Electric ("GE") under which AerCap will acquire 100% of GE Capital Aviation Services ("GECAS"), a GE business.

AerCap executes agreements with Delta Air Lines for the long-term lease of seven Airbus A350-900 aircraft, delivering in Q3 and Q4 of 2021.

AerCap delivers the first of 8 new Airbus A321neo aircraft on lease to Loong Air. The aircraft is the first of its type to enter the airline's fleet and is equipped with 8 business class seats. The aircraft will be used to transport athletes, their support teams and visitors to the 2022 Hangzhou Asia Games.

AerCap joins Collins Aerospace, Pratt & Whitney and SMBC Aviation in a group effort to help accelerate COVID-19 vaccinations in low-income countries via a collective contribution to the Gavi COVAX AMC commitment.

AerCap partners with Concern Worldwide on the CHANGE Program in the Amhara region of Ethiopia. The program aims to support girls achieve better literacy and numeracy skills, and to develop sustainable livelihoods.

AerCap welcomes new Chinese customer, Ruili Airlines, with the delivery of a Boeing 737-800 aircraft, in China.

2020

AerCap sources and donates over $500,000 of vital Personal Protective Equipment 'PPE' to support frontline healthcare professionals and charities in the communities in which we operate.

The PPE we sourced arrives on board an Aer Lingus flight from Beijing to Dublin and is distributed to hospitals, healthcare facilities and to charities around Ireland.

2019

AerCap signs an agreement with AirSial Limited, a privately-owned Pakistani startup airline, for the lease of three used Airbus A320 aircraft. The aircraft are scheduled to deliver in the second quarter of 2020 and will be the first aircraft to be delivered to the airline.

AerCap and EGYPTAIR reach agreement on the leasing of two additional Boeing 787-9 aircraft and the conversion of seven previously executed leases for Airbus neo aircraft.

AerCap signs long-term lease agreements with Air Macau for three new Airbus A321neo aircraft. The agreement was signed during a ceremony in Macau to celebrate the airline’s 25th anniversary.

AerCap celebrates the delivery of the first Embraer E195-E2 on operating lease to Brazilian carrier, Azul Airlines. The aircraft, powered by Pratt & Whitney GTF™ engines, is the first of its type to enter into commercial service.

AerCap delivers a new Boeing 787-9 to EGYPTAIR, the fifth 787 of a 6-aircraft deal, from AerCap’s order book with Boeing. EGYPTAIR operates the world’s longest 787 delivery flight using sustainable aviation fuel in the delivery trip between Seattle and Cairo, totaling 5,925 nautical miles (10,973 kilometers).

Signing agreement between AerCap and US-Bangla for the lease of a new 737 MAX aircraft. In spring 2020, US-Bangla will become the first operator of the 737 MAX in Bangladesh.

Celebrating the milestone delivery of the 787th Boeing 787 to China Southern Airlines, on lease from AerCap.

AerCap delivers its first Embraer E190-E2 to Air Astana. The special livery features the snow leopard which is native to Kazakhstan.

AerCap delivers the first Pratt & Whitney powered Airbus A320neo aircraft, on long-term operating lease to new Chinese customer, Qingdao Airlines.

AerCap takes delivery of its first Boeing 737 MAX. The aircraft is leased to China Southern Airlines, AerCap’s largest customer in Asia Pacific, with whom the lessor has had a relationship for 23 years.

AerCap celebrates the delivery of the first Airbus A350-900 aircraft to Sichuan Airlines. The milestone delivery signifies the first AerCap A350 delivery to mainland China.

AerCap delivers a new A320neo CFM LEAP powered aircraft to Chinese carrier, LoongAir. The first of 26-narrowbody aircraft to be delivered to the airline by AerCap. The delivery marks the beginning of a new era for LoongAir, as the airline embarks on its dynamic expansion plans.

AerCap and Boeing celebrate the milestone delivery of the 100th aircraft to Ethiopian Airlines with the delivery of a new Boeing 787 Dreamliner. The airline became the first airline in Africa to reach the milestone. This follows a series of firsts celebrated by AerCap and Ethiopian Airlines. In July 2016 AerCap delivered to Ethiopian Airlines their first Airbus A350 aircraft, making the airline the first operator in Africa, followed by the delivery of their first 787-9 in October 2017.

AerCap, Neos and Boeing celebrate the delivery of the airline’s first Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, making Neos the firsta Italian Carrier to operate the aircraft type.

AerCap signs a lease agreement for 20 new aircraft with Chinese carrier Loong Air.

AerCap places an order for 30 787-9 Dreamliners at the 2017 Paris Air Show. The agreement, valued at $8.1 billion at list prices, makes AerCap the largest customer for the 787 Dreamliner.

2016

Delivery of the first of two new Airbus A350 aircraft to Ethiopian Airlines, marking the first Airbus A350 XWB delivery to an African carrier. AerCap President and Chief Commercial Officer, Mr. Philip Scruggs presents a gift to Ethiopian Airlines Chief Executive Officer Mr. Tewolde GebreMariam.

AerCap and Boeing celebrate delivery of Air France’s first Boeing 787 Dreamliner. The milestone delivery signifies AerCap’s 50th 787 delivery and Boeing’s 500th Dreamliner to come off its production line.

2015

First A350 XWB touches down in Ireland, marking the announcement by AerCap of 100 new highly skilled jobs in Ireland.

Addition of the first Airbus A350XWB to AerCap's fleet, on lease to Vietnam Airlines, the world's second operator of the A350 XWB.

Signing of an agreement with Boeing for an order of 100 Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft, at the Paris Air Show 2015, with deliveries starting in 2019.

Agreement signed with China Southern, the largest airline in both Asia and the People's Republic of China, for the lease of 24 Airbus A320neo Family aircraft.

2014

In May, AerCap completes acquisition of ILFC from AIG.

AerCap exercises options to purchase 50 A320neo Family aircraft from Airbus, bringing the order book of A320neo Family to a total of 200 aircraft.

Delivery of the first Boeing 787 Dreamliner, on lease to Royal Jordanian.

2013

AerCap announces intention to acquire ILFC from AIG.

First lessor to take delivery of the first Boeing 787 Dreamliner.

AerCap becomes the launch lessor customer of the Embraer E-Jets E2.

2012

AerCap launches AerDragon, a joint venture with the Chinese government aircraft procurement agency CASC and Credit Agricole. The venture comprises Dragon Aviation Leasing Company Limited, based in Beijing, People's Republic of China, and AerDragon Aviation Partners Limited, based in Shannon, Co Clare, Ireland.

2011

Announcement of an order for 100 Airbus A320neo Family aircraft, with 50 options. AerCap becomes the launch customer of the Airbus A320neo aircraft.

2010

AerCap acquires Genesis Lease Limited.

AerCap takes delivery of its 100th Airbus aircraft.

2009

First flight of Boeing 787 Dreamliner in December. The aircraft features the largest windows of any commercial airplane in the world and 50% of its primary structure is made of advanced composite materials. Since its launch the 787 has opened more than 150 new, non-stop routes.

2008

Delivery of 400th Boeing 737, a 737-800.

Delivery of 700th new Boeing 777, a 777-300ER, on lease to Cathay Pacific Airways.

Launch customer for the Airbus A320/A321 passenger to freighter ("P2F") conversion programe.

Delivery of the first new Airbus A330 and its sale to Waha Capital.

2007

1994

Delivery of the first and only Boeing 747-400 on lease to Air New Zealand.

Test flight of the Boeing 777 in June. The 777 was the first jetliner to be 100% digitally designed. It has the longest range capability of any commercial airplane and is the most popular twin-aisle aircraft of all time with more than 1,600 orders worldwide.

1993

GPA is restructured through partial sale of aircraft to GECAS.

Launch customer of the Airbus A319, with the first order for six A319 aircraft.

1992

Delivery of the first new Boeing 747-400 jumbo jet on lease to Cathay Pacific Airways.

1990

ILFC is acquired by American International Group (AIG).

Announcement of an order for 700 new aircraft, values at $17 billion at list prices.

1988

Announcement of the largest new aircraft order in history - 130 aircraft from Airbus and Boeing.

The 767-200ER was the first 767 to complete a non-stop transatlantic journey, and broke the flying distance record for a twinjet airliner on April 17, 1988 with an Air Mauritius flight from Halifax, Nova Scotia to Port Louis, Mauritius, covering 8,727 nmi (10,000 mi; 16,200 km).

1984

Announcement of the first large scale order placed with OEMs by a leasing company - an order for 10 Boeing 737-300s.

1983

ILFC's Initial Public Offering.

Delivery of the first new McDonnell Douglas MD-82.
