Since 2015, AerCap has invested over $60 billion in new technology assets. This investment significantly enhances the fuel efficiency of our customers’ fleets, reducing their Scope 1 emissions and reducing Scope 3 emissions for AerCap. In addition, these aircraft significantly reduce noise and air pollution.

As a result of our continued investment in the latest new technology assets, our Scope 3 Emissions intensity has improved, generating a ~18% reduction in gCO2/ASK across our entire fleet in the last decade.

These new technology assets not only exhibit significantly improved fuel-efficiency but also operate with lower noise levels and reduced air pollution. Importantly, they generate substantial cost savings for our customers. In 2025, our Board-level Corporate Sustainability Committee set a new and ambitious target of ~85% of our fleet composed of all new technology assets (aircraft, engines and helicopters combined) – this is an industry first. This commitment underscores our unwavering dedication to sustainable aviation.

AerCap's Scope 1 & 2 Emissions, over which it has operational control, account for <0.01% of the overall reported emissions in 2025. Nonetheless, we strive to minimize our impact on the environment wherever feasible and have successfully reduced it through efficient energy management and increase in renewable energy usage throughout our locations.

Our Scope 3 emissions encompass our owned aircraft, engines, helicopters, and business travel, accounting for 99.9% of our total reported emissions in 2025.
