JOB SUMMARY

Group Insurance Services plays a vital role within AerCap and is responsible for managing and mitigating many risks arising from our leasing and corporate activities through the utilization of international insurance markets.

The department also manages and enforces the insurance provisions of lease and trading transactions, and continuously monitors compliance through ongoing review of customer insurance, and where applicable, reinsurance certificates pertaining to the company’s leased aircraft, engines and helicopters. 

Working in a dynamic and challenging environment, the successful candidate will ideally be an insurance professional with a minimum of three years’ experience with the ambition and ability to transition into the challenging aircraft leasing environment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB

Insurance Management

  • Work with cross functional teams which originate, negotiate and close on commercial transactions (aircraft leases, sales and financings) and with customers / airlines and their brokers / insurers on a global basis.
  • Monitor and manage the insurance performance of customers / airlines and other third parties in accordance with contractual requirements.
  • Monitor and manage insurance claims which relate to the company’s assets.
  • Assist in implementing the organization’s insurance buying strategies and practices for aviation and non-aviation classes of insurance.
  • Development and maintenance of good working relationships with insurance counterparties (brokers, underwriters etc.).
  • Ensure accurate recording and integrity of insurance related lease data on the department’s system.
  • Monitor and manage accuracy of insurance related systems data and document storage on an ongoing basis.
  • Participate in various departmental projects and initiatives.
  • Support the wider insurance team as required with various transactions, including deliveries, renewals, sales, and other transactions and projects.

JOB REQUIREMENTS, QUALIFICATIONS & COMPETENCIES

Educational/Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree with a major in Insurance or other relevant qualification
  • A minimum of three years’ experience working in Insurance, experience working in the aviation industry is desirable.

Technical/Functional

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
